Geauga's Flying Dutchman

Installed at Geauga Lake in 2001, the Vekoma Flying Dutchman known as X-Flight had several improvements over the prototype, including a dual station, helix, and better heartlining. It was moved to Kings Island for the 2007 season before being retired at the end of 2018.

Wings of the Night

The world's first suspended roller coaster, the Bat debuted at Kings Island on April 26, 1981. Created by Arrow Dynamics, the ride stood 100 feet tall with 2,400 feet of track. While the Bat was very popular, its prototype nature led to its closure and removal in 1983.

Corkscrew 50th Anniversary

Corkscrew 50th Anniversary

Announced in 1975 as the Great Lake Erie Roller, Cedar Point’s Corkscrew has become an icon with its double corkscrew inversions twisting over the heads of guests on the midway. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026, Corkscrew was the first in the world to feature three inversions.
Allan Herschell Little Dipper

Allan Herschell Little Dipper

Designed by Bradley & Kaye in 1946, the Allan Herschell company purchased the rights to manufacture Little Dipper coasters in 1948. They went on to produce nearly 200 of them, 28 of which are still standing. Michigan and Ohio are home to seven remaining Little Dipper coasters.
70 Years of Adventure

70 Years of Adventure

Celebrating its 70th anniversary this summer, the history of Michigan’s Adventure dates back to 1956 when a group of local businessmen founded a petting zoo named Deer Park. This pin features the park’s lion mascot that adorned the logo from 1988 through 2001.
